Sports Venues

The sports venues were examined closely by the Canada Games Council in the summer of 2010 in order to ensure that each venue meet the technical criteria of the Canada Games.  Minor changes were made to meet certain requirements (such as medical, emergency services, water and food services, for VIPs, etc.) that a major event such as this one demands.

"Each time I come to Sherbrooke, I’m always impressed with your sports infrastructure”

- Kelly-Ann Paul, Canada Games Council -

All of the sports venues, except the Claude-Robillard Complex (10m diving) are at most 30 minutes from the Games Village.  Almost 75% of the venues, including the Village, are within a 4km radius, and 80% within a 10km radius.

A subsequent meeting will take place from September 14 to 16, 2011, where the technical representatives from the National Sports Organizations will visit Sherbrooke to undertake a technical revision of the sports venues.  This collaboration is an essential part of the planning and organizational process of the Canada Summer Games – Sherbrooke 2013.

One thing is for certain – Sherbrooke has all the qualities necessary to host a very successful Summer Games in 2013!
