The Host Society of the Canada Summer Games – Sherbrooke 2013 will hold the biggest Canada-wide multisport event from August 2 to 17, 2013. We are presently looking for candidates interested in being part of this adventure.

 

TELECOMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Reporting to the Manager - Information Technologies, the successful candidate will assist in planning and carrying out activities associated with the implémentation of télécommunications and audiovisual infrastructure and equipment (voice and data networks, telephones, radios).

  • Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience?
  • Do you have five years of experience in a similar position, specifically managing telecommunications infrastructure (voice and data), as well as experience in a computer or telecommunications support centre?
  • Do you have strong analytical and problem solving skills?
  • Do you enjoy planning and organizing?
  • Are you recognized for your independence, team spirit, and bilingualism?

PAGEANTRY COORDINATOR

Reporting to the Manager – General Services, the successful candidate will coordinate activities associated with internal and external signage for the Canada Summer Games–Sherbrooke 2013. The individual will produce or have produced all the signs and pageantry, in accordance with municipal and government laws and regulations. This will be a one-year contract position beginning on September 30, 2012.

  • Do you have a high school diploma and a Class 5 driver’s licence?
  • Do you have two to three years of experience in a similar position?
  • Do you have strong planning, organizational, and personnel management skills?
  • Do you have a very good knowledge of the streets and surrounding areas of Sherbrooke?
  • Are you able to read urban plans and manipulate equipment and tools to install signage?
  • Are you familiar with MS Office Suite and Google Maps?
  • Are you in good physical condition, and do you enjoy moving around?
  • Are you recognized for your team spirit and bilingualism?

WORKSHOP COORDINATOR

Reporting to the Manager – General Services, the successful candidate will ensure the coordination, execution, and supervision of construction, repairs, and renovations of goods and equipment for the Canada Summer Games–Sherbrooke 2013. The individual will ensure that work is carried out according to the instructions, plans, specifications, and rules of the industry. He or she will also supervise the work of labourers and subcontractors. The candidate must be available from August 15, 2012, until September 2013.

  • Do you have a diploma of vocational studies in carpentry or equivalent experience and an attestation of vocational specialization in welding (an asset)?
  • Do you have three years of carpentry experience?
  • Do you have strong planning, organizational, and personnel management skills?
  • Are you able to read plans and use carpentry tools?
  • Do you know the characteristics of construction materials and “green” products (an asset)?
  • Are you familiar with MS Office Suite?
  • Are you in good physical condition?
  • Are you recognized for your team spirit?

WAREHOUSE COORDINATOR

Reporting to the Manager – General Services, the successful candidate is responsible for the organization and coordination of the warehouse. The individual will control reception, storage, and shipping of goods for all services and venues for the Canada Summer Games–Sherbrooke 2013. He or she will code warehouse items and verify inventory. The candidate must be available from August 1, 2012, until September 2013.

  • Do you have a high school diploma and three years of experience in warehouse management as a dispatcher?
  • Do you have a Class 5 driver’s licence and a forklift operator card?
  • Do you have strong planning, organizational, and personnel management skills?
  • Are you familiar with the laws governing the transportation of goods?
  • Are you able to read distribution slips?
  • Are you familiar with inventory management software and MS Office Suite?
  • Are you in good physical condition?
  • Are you recognized for your team spirit and bilingualism?
